The Philadelphia Eagles have the components to have great success.
There a some proven components in the NFL that lead to success, and the Philadelphia Eagles have most of them. They have an excellent coaching staff that has been proven or came from a proven coaching tree. This is a team that dominates on both sides of the trenches. They have a great ball controlled timed offense. They have a dominant defense, due in large part to their linebacker core. In addition, they also have a positive special team on both sides of the ball.
The Philadelphia Eagles coaching staff’s excellent history.
First things first, let’s talk about the coaching staff of the Eagles. They are led by head coach Doug Pederson. He was the offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs under Andy Reid in 2013-2015. In his second year as head coach for the Eagles, he helped give them their first ever Superbowl victory over the New England Patriots.
Doug Pederson has a great team of coordinators to back him up. Mike Groh comes back for his second year as offensive coordinator. He came from the Los Angeles Rams as the wide receiver coach in 2017. The defensive coordinator is headed by Jim Schwartz, who has 22 years of coaching experience. Schwartz also had a solid run at head coach with the Detroit Lions in 2009-2013. The special teams coach is Dave Fipp, who has been in service with the Eagles since 2013. In this time he has produced a lead leading 13 touchdowns on special teams.
The Philadelphia Eagles have created a fierce army in the trenches.
The offensive line is headed by potential Hall Of Famer Jason Peters at left tackle. They have one of the best centers in the league, nine-year starter Jason Kelce. Brandon Brooks on right guard and Lane Johnson right tackle will dominate the right side.
The Eagles' offensive line has been named the top OL in the NFL by @PFF, but will it live up to that?@DZangaroNBCS takes a look.https://t.co/oClOd9o3Sf

The Eagles defensive line is arguably just as good as the offensive line. The defensive line is headed by seven-year starter defensive tackle Fletcher Cox. Last season, he recorded 10.5 sacks and is one of the better run stoppers in the NFL. Ten-year veteran defensive end, Brandon Graham, played injured last year but when healthy he can dominate. He had 9.5 sacks in 2017. Cox, Graham, and Derek Barnett are some of the best to shed off blocks to stop the run. They are listed as the second best defensive line against the run.
With a healthy quarterback, Carson Wentz, the Eagles have a lethal ball controlled offense.
The commander of the Eagles offense is third-year quarterback Carson Wentz. He was selected second overall in the 2016 draft and signed a hefty rookie contract (four years for 26.67 million dollars). In Carson’s second year, he went 11-2 before he was injured. Ironically, the injury helped the Eagles get their first Superbowl victory with backup Nick Foles. In his short career, he has been injury-prone. When healthy, he has shown extraordinary abilities that got him an extension till 2024.
In the offseason, the Eagles strengthened their running game by acquiring Jordan Howard from the Chicago Bears. Although Jordan had an off year last year due to sharing carries, he should be back to his Pro Bowl self.
Carson Wentz has a star receiving core with Alshon Jeffery and Nelson Agholor as the returning starters. They added DeSean Jackson, which adds a quick deep threat. His most effective target will be Zach Ertz, arguably the best tight end in football.
The weakest part of this team is the linebacker core.
Even though the linebacker core is the weak link, they are decent with the talent around them. Nigel Bradham and Kamu Grugier-Hill are returning starters with good coverage skills. They have a very good reaction time. The addition of Zach Brown from the Washington Redskins will also help. Brown has been to the Pro Bowl in 2016 and has extreme magnetism to the ball.
The Eagles have all the makings of a great dynasty.
In conclusion, the Eagles have one other key factor in becoming a dynasty. This team has a massive window for success. They made some big signings and also cut weak ends to get everyone under contract for the next several years. They will become a cohesive group and will be led by Doug Pederson for the long haul.
