With the news of D’Ontay Foreman, being placed on waivers today by the Houston Texans the running back position has become more clear in Houston.
Lamar Miller fantasy outlook for 2019-2020
The Texans placed RB D’Onta Foreman on waivers. They weren’t happy with his work habits. RBs on the roster are veterans Josh Ferguson, Buddy Howell and Taiwan Jones and undrafted rookies Damarea Crockett and Karan Higdon Jr.

Lamar Miller fantasy outlook
Lamar Miller finished the 2018-2019 season with 973 yards, five TD’s on 210 carries. The 2012 4th round pick out of the University of Miami said coming into training camp this year “Right now, I’m pretty much the same as I came in last year,” Miller said, via the Houston Chronicle. “Last year, I came in at like 220. So, right now I’m like 220, 221. But I’m going to try to drop my body fat down a little bit heading towards training camp.”
Miller coming into the last year of his contract was projected as a 6th round draft choice in most fantasy drafts. But with the news of Foreman release and the lack of depth at running back for the Texans, this position is sure to change over the next coming weeks. Miller finished 22nd in fantasy points and was the lead back last year. His outlook has definitely improved with this news but there are other possible sleepers on the roster.

Texans running back depth
The backup running backs for the Texans is not a whos who list of well-known running backs but there is some potential for fantasy. Josh Ferguson going into training camp was gaining steam as the 3rd back before the Foreman news. The biggest impact that Ferguson will make is on special team and as a receiver out of the backfield which of course comes into play with PPR leagues. Ferguson actually had 20 reception on 26 targets for the Colts last year. He has potential as a handcuff for Miller in deep PPR leagues.
As reported by the Houston Chronicle coach Bill O’Brien wanted a back who could play in the role of passing down back like Kevin Faulk or Danny Woodhead, and with 168 career receptions in college, he could fit that role
Buddy Howell, Taiwan Jones, Karan Higdon, and Damarea Crockett round out the backfield but we will have to wait and see if they will have any impact going forward.
