Recap of Bruins Preseason Games from 9/19 – 9/25

On Sept 19, the Boston Bruins played the Philadelphia Flyers in their second preseason game of the 2019-20 season. The best Bruins highlight for this game was the incredible save by Jaroslav Halák against Morgan Frost during a Flyers’ power play.

In Case You Missed It…

Danton Heinen scored in the first period for the Bruins and Matt Niskanen scored for the Flyers as well, making the end of the period score 1-1. In the second period, a goal was scored by Peter Cehlarik for the Bruins, making the end of that period 2-1 Bruins.

Then we hit the third period, Connor Clifton came out of the penalty box and scored!

Putting the
Bruins up 3-1! Making the final score of that game 3-1 Bruins.

Preseason Game 3 – Chicago Blackhawks

Unfortunately, I did not get to see or hear this game. So, here is a highlight video.

Preseason Game #4 – Philadelphia Flyers

The BIG names of the Boston Bruins are starting to coming out making their debuts on the ice. In this game, David Krejci, Brad Marchand, Zdeno Chara, David Backes, David Pastrnak, Jake DeBrusk, and others made an appearance in this preseason event. Patrice Bergeron has been rumored to make his debut on Saturday, September 28th the last preseason game against the Blackhawks.

Our starting goalie for the Bruins was none other than Tuuuuukkkkaaa RASK! (Come on don’t act you didn’t say it that way!)

During the first period, Krejci left the game with a lower-body issue and did not return for the remainder of the game. Rumor is that he will not play on Saturday for the last preseason game but will be ready for the season opener on October 3rd against Dallas.

Meanwhile, Jakub Lauko scored for the Bruins and shortly after that Travis Konecny for the Flyers scored. 1st period ended tied 1-1.

In the second period, Marchand was the only goal scorer. Giving Boston the lead 2-1.

In the third period for Bruins, fans got kinda scary. They changed goalies and Vladar took over for Rask. At 4:42 into the period Carsen Twarynski scored for the Flyers, tying the game 2-2. Then at 6:46 almost two minutes later, Connor Bunnaman scored a power play goal for the Flyers. Putting them up by one. Nail-biting moments as the clock wound down for Boston when low and behold! Chris Wagner scored to tie it with under two minutes left in the final period! We move on to overtime where Jake DeBrusk scored the winning goal! Bruins win 4-3 over the Flyers!

Preseason Game #5 – New Jersey Devils

In this game the starting goalie for the Bruins was Halák, who played the whole 60 minutes. What was outstanding during this game was the goal scored by Jack Studnicka during the first period.

If that wasn’t fun enough, Bruins’ defenseman Jeremy Lauzon got into a brawl with Devils’ forward Nathan Bastian. Seemed to me this was the highlight of the game outside of Studnicka’s goal.

In the third period, Backes scored the winning goal bringing us to the final score of 2-0 Bruins.
