One and Done
Kevin Lee is coming off a loss against Rafael Dos Anjos in Fight Night 152. Dos Anjos’ plan was to send Lee back down to the lightweight division, where Lee has spent his time in the UFC. He has evidently kept his promise, and now here we are.
Lee stated after the fight that he began to question himself about his future. He showed interest in being on the New York card earlier this year, however his opponents were originally fighters such as Stephen Thompson and Robbie Lawler. Now, Lee has reinstated himself in the lightweight division as Gregor Gillespie welcomes him back.
Gregor Gillespie hailing from Long Island, New York, has a record of 13-0 and is 6-0 with the UFC. Gillespie has a stat line consisting of six wins via (T)KO, five wins via submission, and the remaining as decision victories..
His wrestling background has awarded him a four-time NCAA Division I All- American, with a national championship to follow. After school, Gillespie started to study MMA and quickly picked it up and found a spot in the UFC. In his most recent performance, he went against Yancy Medeiros in the first UFC appearance of this year.
Here he won by way of a second round KO that put him on notice. The well rounded fighter will put his undefeated record on the line to welcome back Lee to the lightweight division.
