While a lot of eyes will be on Game 5 of the ALDS tonight, I am focusing on the Thursday Night Football game.
New York Giants @ New England Patriots
After a good run of some competitive Thursday Night Football games this year, Fox wanted blood this week. The Patriots, who are looking to start 6-0 for the 4th time in team history, have looked dominant so far this year. The defense has been playing at such a high level it seems like opposing teams are beginning to use their games against the Patriots as a second bye week; a chance to rest some banged up players. Following suit, the Giants are going to be playing without Saquon Barkley, Wayne Gallman, Evan Engram, and Sterling Shepard. Additionally, the weather in Foxboro looks nasty tonight, with heavy rain and winds upwards to 40mph, expected. I just don’t see how the Giants score this game. New England’s defense has given up 4 scoring drives ALL SEASON for a total of 20 points.
While the Patriots defense has been lights out, the offense has struggled a little bit at times this year. They will be without Rex Burkhead and Phillip Dorsett tonight, and Josh Gordon and Julian Edelman remain banged up. However, I think Brady and Josh McDaniels will be able to score enough to cover this game. This game has blowout written all over it, and I am seeing multiple avenues to make some money. New York will not score double digits this game. A rookie Quarterback, in bad weather, with no offensive weapons is about to have a rough, rough game. I also love the Patriots to cover both the first half and full game spreads. If they can score 24 points, that should be enough. New York may score some garbage points late but expect this one to be over by the third quarter.
