UFC 244 Team Picks

UFC 244 is almost here and just might be the biggest UFC card of the year. From the main event to the card kicking off we as fans are in for an absolute treat.
But we know why you are here and we will get to the picks after we have a quick look at the spectacle we have in store for us come Saturday night.

To start the main card we have a promising prospect in Gregor Gillespie facing off against Kevin Lee in a lightweight bout.
UFC 244 presents a massive opportunity for undefeated Gillespie as he gets a chance to showcase his skill set in the ever stacked lightweight division. For Lee it is an opportunity to show fans he still has more to show and is better than his recent struggles suggest.

Following the lightweight bout we will be treated to the big boys as heavyweight sluggers clash.
Derrick Lewis and Blagoy Ivanov will meet in the cage in what should be a don’t blink kind of fight. Or they go in to the second round and we are reminded why heavyweight cardio is a nightmare for fans.

Former welterweight title challenger Stephen Thompson is up next as he faces always dangerous Vincente Luque. Thompson has not been in action since he suffered a knockout to Anthony Pettis. This will be Thompson’s chance to use the massive audience of UFC 244 to serve up another possible highlight reel finish.
The exciting Luque will want to use Thompson’s name to make his case as a legitimate contender in the deep welterweight division.

Kelvin Gastellum

In the lead up to the main event we get to see former middleweight title challenger Kelvin Gastelum welcome Darren Till to the middlewieght division.
Till was last seen when he lost by knockout to one half of the main event, Jorge Masvidal. Before that he suffered a resounding loss to then welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley. This is Till’s chance to reinvigorate his career and remind fans why he was considered one of the hottest prospects in MMA.

Gastelum is coming off a decision loss to now middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya. They met for the interim middleweight title and after a war Adesanya had his hand raised.
Gastelum is always dangerous and I am sure he will be looking for a highlight reel worthy finish.

Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz face off.

Oh boy, what a fight this main event will be.
In the fight to decide the baddest mother f*cker in the game we see Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz meet in the octagon at UFC 244.
Masvidal is coming off a knockout to end all knock out victories over Ben Askren that saw him end the fight via flying knee mere seconds in to the first round.
Diaz was gone from our screens for three years before returning for an all out brawl with Anthony Pettis earlier in the year.

With two of the realest characters in the sport set to meet at Madison Square Garden for a custom made belt that will be presented by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, this is a big deal.
