The Packers Successfully Bounce Back vs. Panthers

The Green Bay Packers looked to bounce back after a rather embarrassing 26-11 loss to the 4-5 (now 4-6) Los Angeles Chargers. And bounce back they did. The Packers picked up a 24-16 victory at Lambeau Field against a good Panthers team.

Aaron Jones New Career High

As it has been with most of the 2019-2020 NFL season, Aaron Jones carried much of the workload for the Green Bay offense. Jones rushed for 93 yards and had three total rushing touchdowns on the day. With this impressive performance, Aaron Jones set a new career-high for rushing touchdowns in a season with 11.

Jones didn’t do it alone, however. Davante Adams, off just his second game back from injury, caught seven passes from Aaron Rodgers for a total of 118 yards. Preston Smith also had a tremendous performance, sacking impressive rookie quarterback Kyle Allen twice, recording ten official sacks on the season. Preston Smith and Aaron Jones both putting up career highs in a season for their respective stats (sacks, rushing touchdowns).

Defense Comes Up Huge

In the end, the Packers defense came up huge on the final play of the game. The defense stepped up and was able to stop Christian McCaffrey, the MVP candidate, just short of the goal line. While the offensive line tried to give McCaffrey one last push to break the white line and score, it wasn’t enough to overcome the wall that the Packers defense had formed to stop him just inches short.

On To The 49ers

As a result of the hard-fought win, the Packers will head into the bye week with a record of 8-2. Currently, placing them as the second seed in the NFC thanks to a Saints loss. The bye allows the team to rest up and game-plan for the Week 12 showdown vs. the undefeated 49ers. After a fantastic start to the season, Matt LaFleur and the Packers hope to end the season just as hot as they started it.
