Here are my top ten former Boston Bruins that I miss seeing on the ice in the black and gold. (Note: I know that I missed a lot, sorry.)

#10 – Noel Acciari

Noel Acciari was acquired by the Bruins on June 3, 2015. He played with the team until this season. He signed as a free agent with the Florida Panthers in July 2019. Not a whole lot to say about Acciari except as a fan, I miss him on the team.

#9 – Riley Nash

Riley Nash started out playing five years for the Carolina Hurricanes. Then came to the Bruins in the 2016-17 season. He stayed with them for two years before moving on to the Columbus Blue Jackets for the 2018-19 season.

#8 – Johnny Boychuk

Johnny Boychuk started his career with the Colorado Avalanche in 2007-08. Then he was traded to the Bruins in 2008-09. He stayed in Boston until 2013-14. He also helped the Bruins win the Stanley Cup in 2011.

#7 – Nathan Horton

Horton Here’s A What? Woooo is the correct answer, but unfortunately no longer. He played six years for the Florida Panthers before becoming a Bruin in 2010-11.

June 22, 2010: Traded to the Boston Bruins by the Florida Panthers with Gregory Campbell for Dennis Wideman, Bruins’ 1st round pick (later traded to the Los Angeles Kings – Kings selected Derek Forbort) in the 2010 NHL Draft and Bruins’ 3rd round pick (Kyle Rau) in the 2011 NHL Draft.

He stayed with Boston until the 2012-13 season. Then he played his last season in 2013-14 for the Columbus Blue Jackets.

#6 Adam McQuaid

This is where I get sad because it’s from here that I REALLY miss these players. Starting with Adam McQuaid. In my eyes, fighting is a part of hockey and we could always count on him not only for his defense but coming to defend his teammates. He played nine years (count them nine) with the Bruins. And then spent last season moving around from team to team. I’m not sure if he retired or is taking a break. Either way, I miss the guy.

#5 – Anton Khudobin

Anton Khudobin has had quite the career in the NHL:

For how long he stays in Dallas? We don’t know. Only time will tell.

The fight above and the Stanley Cup in 2011. THAT IS ALL!

#3 – Tyler Seguin

Tyler Seguin much like David Pastrnak became a rising star. Starting with the Bruins during the 2010-11 season, at 19 years of age, he won the Stanley Cup with them. Then in 2013-14, he was traded to the Dallas Stars and currently is playing there.

Sentimental Time! #2 – Shawn Thornton

Shawn Thornton along with the player in the #1 spot, I hold dear to my heart! I’ve met him and he was so great! In 2011, right after the Bruins won the cup in a media interview he said into the camera “Suck it, Felger!” In reference to Mike Felger an analyst for Boston Sports saying that the Bruins couldn’t win it.

He has since retired and I think he still lives in Boston.

DRUM ROLL PLEASE!

#1 – Milan Lucic

Milan Lucic is special to me because he was the first hockey player that I ever met and got his autograph. It also helps that I think he’s cute! But for him and David Krejci, my favorite players on the Bruins and I literally cried when he got traded. The trade that became infamous and the players we got from the LA Kings are not even on the Bruins’ roster anymore! Lucic left the Kings to go to the Edmonton Oilers. He got a pretty pricey contract with them too. Unfortunately, he went into a slump and his stats went way down. However, when he signed with the Calgary Flames he seemed to bounce back which is good because Calgary is where he is now. Here is my favorite fight not just because of the fight but Jack Edwards’ commentary is funny!

So that’s my top ten, I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!
