The Buffalo Bills beat the Miami Dolphins 37-20 Sunday and complete the season sweep against there AFC East Rival. With Sundays win, the Buffalo Bills have now won more games than last season, as the 2018 squad only went 6-10. The Bills moved to 7-3 after ten games and looked like a playoff-contending team against the Dolphins.

Offensive Resurgence?

The Bills wasted no time on offense in Miami as Josh Allen and company put 37 points up on the Dolphins. The offense, who has been suspect all season, played great throughout the entirety of this game and helped the Bills cruise to an impressive 7-3 record.

Josh Allen was phenomenal once again against the Phins. Allen went 21-33, throwing for 256 yards and three touchdowns. Josh also rushed for a score as well. Allen surprised many fans Sunday, as he was close to approaching 300 yards passing, a mark that hasn’t been surpassed for the Bills since 2017.

On the other side of some big passes, Sunday was the outstanding play of John Brown. Brown caught nine for 137 yards and two touchdowns, quieting the season-long critics claiming the Bills do not have a true number one receiver on its roster. John Brown has been nothing but incredible since arriving at Orchard Park from the Ravens this offseason and has quickly become Allen’s favorite receiver.

Pass Rush Dominance

The Bills defense was back in top-notch form Sunday, as they sacked Dolphins Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick eight times during the contest. Seven of the eight sacks came from the interior defensive lineman, a great feat for the entire defense. When the majority of takedowns in the backfield come from the defensive lineman, that means your secondary and whole defensive unit is doing their job. The impressive play was a team effort, as every defensive tackle that played a snap for Buffalo on Sunday recorded a sack. The Bills especially had fantastic play from Rookie Defensive Tackle Ed Oliver, who recorded the first sack of the game, and Jordan Phillips, who now has seven on the season.

Special Teams Exposed

The only downfall of the Buffalo Bills victory in Miami was the lack of special teams play, mainly kickoffs. The Bills allowed too many yards against on kick returns, including one that was returned for a 101-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Although the Bills punting game seemed to improve and the kicker Stephen Hauschka was perfect with field goals and extra points, the rest of the special teams will need to make adjustments to limit the excellent field position moving forward.

What’s Next?

The Buffalo Bills will face the Denver Broncos next Sunday at 1 pm Eastern. The Broncos (3-7) held a commanding lead against the Minnesota Vikings Sunday, but couldn’t hold on throughout as they lost 27-23. The Bills will look to improve there record to 8-3 and remain in the front seat for the AFC Wildcard.
