Start or Sit Week 13: Defense

Fantasy players that are clear starters will not be included in this Start or Sit article such as Patrick Mahomes, Christian McCaffrey, and Michael Thomas. All the fantasy stats shown below will be based on a Point Per Reception (PPR) scoring format.

Start of the Week: Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions

The Chicago Bears are traveling to Detroit on Thanksgiving Day to take on the Lions. Chicago’s defense has allowed the fourth least amount of points on the season. They are also ranked ninth in passing yards allowed, and fourth in yards per rush allowed. The Lions offense had four turnovers and allowed six sacks versus the terrible Washington Redskins in week 12. It also doesn’t hurt that Matthew Stafford isn’t expected to play, and Jeff Driskel is banged up. Look for Chicago to get a few sacks and a couple of turnovers or more if Driskel isn’t able to play.

Other Good Starts:

  • Green Bay Packers at New York Giants
  • New York Jets at Cincinnati Bengals
  • Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins

Sit of the week: New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons

The New Orleans Saints are traveling to Atlanta on Thanksgiving Day to take on the Falcons. New Orleans defense struggled last week, allowing 31 points, at home, to Kyle Allen and the Carolina Panthers. Atlanta is first in the league in passing yards per game and averaging 26 points per game over the last three games. Look for this game to be a high scoring shoot out.

Other Good Sits:

  • Buffalo Bills at Dallas Cowboys
  • San Francisco 49ers at Baltimore Ravens
  • Minnesota Vikings at Seattle Seahawks
