After dismantling USF, Hawaii is looking to continue its momentum against Hawaii Pacific University this Sunday. The Warriors showed on Friday night that they are an extremely dangerous squad when the offense is on and the team defense is sold. Drew Buggs, Eddie Stansberry, and Zigmars Raimo all played to their potential and were not phased by the previously undefeated Dons. Mate Colina, Samuta Avea, and Dawson Carper also contributed significantly on the defensive end.
The Sharks of HPU look to stymie the Warriors and continue their momentum. The Sharks are on a two-game winning streak where they outscored their past two opponents 171-102. Leading the charge for the Sharks is Lachlan Viney and Ronald Blain. Viney is averaging 11.8 PPG while Blain is averaging 11.5 PPG. The Sharks have talented scorers but lack the size and physicality that the Warriors possess. The Warriors carry three 7’0 players compared to zero for the Sharks.
The Warriors and Sharks will tip off at 5 PM Hawaii Time. The game will be held at the Stan Sheriff Center or can be viewed on OC Sports.
