Start or Sit Week 14: Tight Ends brought to you by Overtime Heroics. Fantasy players that are clear starters will not be included in this Start or Sit article, such as Patrick Mahomes, Christian McCaffrey, and Michael Thomas. All the fantasy stats shown below will be based on a Point Per Reception (PPR) scoring format.
Start of the Week: Kyle Rudolph at Detroit Lions
Kyle Rudolph has scored five touchdowns in his past four games; talk about getting hot at the right time. With questions still surrounding Adam Thielen’s availability and the chemistry now with him and Kirk Cousins, I totally expect the good days to continue. It’s the first round of the Playoffs for most fantasy leagues and with very few dependable tight ends out there a matchup at home against the lowly Detroit Lions makes Rudolph a favorable start this week. He is my must start for the week.
Other Good Starts:
- Jacob Hollister at Los Angeles Rams
- Mike Gesicki at New York Jets
- Vance McDonald at Arizona Cardinals
Sit of the Week: Jack Doyle at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense has been really good of late getting at the quarterback without having to blitz so there are more bodies in coverage, which is why they have limited tight end’s to two total catches in its past two games. There are questions whether the Colts will have T.Y. Hilton again this season, and with Eric Ebron already on IR, the Tampa defense can focus on keeping Doyle a non-factor. Limit your expectations for Doyle this week. He is my sit of the week.
Other Good Sits:
- Jason Witten at Chicago Bears
- Jared Cook at San Francisco 49ers
- O.J. Howard at Indianapolis Colts
