The Baltimore Ravens defense propelled them to a close 24-17 win against a very good Buffalo Bills team. With extra time to prepare and home-field advantage, the Bills were able to limit the Ravens offense. The Ravens D played lights out and held the Bills enough to get the win.

Defense Deserves Game Ball

All year the talk has been surrounding Lamar Jackson and the explosive Ravens offense. This time it was the defense that stepped up for Baltimore. The Ravens held Buffalo to 250 total yards, with running back Devin Singletary their only bright spark with 89 rushing yards.

The defense pressured Bills quarterback Josh Allen all game, forcing six sacks and a forced fumble in the first quarter. The seven points off that turnover proved the difference in this game. This unit started the year slowly, but now sixth in the league, and firing on all cylinders.

Lamar Jackson Struggles

Lamar is the favorite for league MVP and is on pace to break NFL rushing records, yet he struggled against the Bills. Facing cold and tough winds, he and the Ravens offense struggled all game. He threw his first interception in 180 plus plays, yet still got the win. Watch the game highlights here.

He threw for three touchdowns but was limited to only 40 rushing yards. That put him over 1,000 yards and should break Michael Vick’s all-time record on Thursday night. The Bills used the extra time to focus on stopping the run, forcing the Ravens to throw in less than ideal conditions.

Ravens Clinch Playoff Spot

The Ravens ninth successive win was significant as it clinched them a playoff berth. With the Patriots losing they are the only team in from the AFC, and now have a game lead over the Patriots for the number one seed.

The Ravens need one more win to clinch the AFC North crown, and with only three games left look good for the first seed. This would be the first time in their history Baltimore is the top seed. It’s been a historic year for the Ravens.
