Nuggets at 76ers (-4)
There was a lot of defense in Philadelphia (Eagles) last night and should be again tonight. The 76ers and Nuggets always play a great game and keep it close. Nuggets won on a Nikola Jokic buzzer-beater in Denver after being down 21 points in the fourth quarter. The 76ers are 10-0 at home and the only undefeated team at home remaining. The Nuggets have lost two straight and the 76ers have won two straight and six of the last seven games. I like the 76ers to defend homecourt in what should be the best NBA game of the night.
Pick: 76ers ML
No. 4 Maryland at Penn State (-1)
Sports Betting: The last time No. 4 Maryland won in State College was February 14, 2015, 76-73. The Terps have lost three-straight playing at Penn State including last year’s, 78-61 drumming. This matchup is up in the air because of the home team’s successes but one thing to note is the over/under. The line might be enhanced due to Penn State’s embarrassing 106-74 loss to No. 6 Ohio State.
The last 5 meetings between from recent to oldest between the two previews the obvious difference between the home and road team. Looking a little closer at the over/under, none have gone over the opening line of 146.5. The line has dropped to 141.5 after one day because of all the action on the under and you can still get the 146 at -195 in parlays. Only two of the past five have gone over 141.5 with neither of last year’s reaching the total. I like 146 for parlays tonight with the 76ers and a player prop or No. 1 Lousiville ML for a three-team play.
Maryland 66, Penn State 59 at Maryland
Penn State 78, Maryland 61 at Penn State
Maryland 75, Penn State 69 at Maryland
Penn State 74, Maryland 70 at Penn State
Penn State 70, Maryland 64 at Penn State
Pick: Under 146
Knicks at Blazers (-9)
V’s 12/10 Picks: Carmelo Anthony is averaging 14.4 shot attempts per game in his last five games and he’s averaging 17.2 points at home. Given tonight’s matchup and his averages, the over on 16.5 points looks like a good bet. Melo has scored 17 or more points in five of 10 games this season, and he will face the Knicks today for the first time since 2017.
He played them twice as a member of the Thunder and he averaged 17 points on 34.2 percent shooting in two games in 2017. The Knicks have the worst record in the league and have fired their coach so this is a tune-up game for Melo and a 20-point night looks very good tonight.
Pick: Carmelo Anthony Over 16.5 Points
Yesterday’s Picks: 2-1
