The Oklahoma City Thunder, on the second night of a back-to-back, took down the Utah Jazz 104-90. The game was close throughout the first half, only leading 51-47. In the second half, the Thunder came out with some fire. The team did not turn back from there, keeping the lead. This win is a statement for the Thunder. They are now on a three-win streak and won two of them on a back-to-back.
The most notable game of the performance was Dennis Shroder and his 27 points. Shroder had the wheels going all night, giving the team life throughout the game. He also played very efficiently, shooting 52.4% from the field. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had things going for himself too, adding 20 points.
Luguentz Dort had an electrifying performance in only his third appearance for the Thunder. Dort had nine points and made winning plays when it mattered most. He will have a good chance to keep improving while Hamidou Diallo and Terrence Ferguson are out. The more he gets to play and adapt to the NBA, the more valuable he can become to the team.
Steven Adams also made winning plays all night, scoring, rebounding, and facilitating from the high post. Adams’ role this year is helping the team win but his stats are low due to the role he is playing. He is one of the best centers in the league if you watch him play but not in the box score. Adams still scored 11 points and grabbed 13 boards.
Chris Paul continues to bring his veteran leadership every game. He scored 16 points and added 7 assists.
The next game in this four-game road trip, will be in Sacramento against the Sacramento Kings. The Thunder will have one day to rest before taking on the fast-paced Kings. The Thunder will have to keep the pace up and play consistently if they want to expand the win streak to 4.
