Week 16 Waiver Wire Adds brought to you by Fantasy Expert FF Joe H of Overtime Heroics. Players on this list will only be rostered in less than 50% of fantasy leagues according to ESPN.

Championship week is upon us! For those of you who have made it to the finals, congratulations! Hopefully, my series here has helped you quite a bit with some people you should be adding to your rosters. Even if you lost, don’t give up! Keep playing to get the highest place you can get.

This week saw, as usual, a lot of surprise players blow, whether that was due to injury, or opportunity. There are some guys on this list that are must adds and can easily help you win in the finals or the placing games.

Drew Lock, Denver Broncos – 3.8%

Finally, after weeks of putting Ryan Tannehill on this list, he has gone above 50%. Now, in comes Lock. Lock struggled last week in basically a blizzard against a solid Kansas City defense. Next week, he has a weak Detroit Lions defense who are 25th against opposing fantasy quarterbacks. Jameis Winston just lit them up for 458 yards and four touchdowns.

Other Quarterbacks:

  • Mitch Trubisky, Chicago Bears – 21.4%
  • Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals – 4.6%
  • Ryan Fitzpatrick, Miami Dolphins – 15.7%

Mike Boone, Minnesota Vikings – 0.2%

With Dalvin Cook exiting the game with an injury, Boone took the most of his opportunity. Boone carried the ball 13 times for 56 yards and two touchdowns. With the possibility Dalvin Cook misses an extended period of time, Boone is an immediate starter into your fantasy lineup, unless Alexander Mattison returns from injury.

Other Running Backs:

  • Alexander Mattison, Minnesota Vikings – 27.5%
  • Patrick Laird, Miami Dolphins – 38.6%
  • Wes Hills, Detroit Lions – 0%

Breshad Perriman, Tampa Bay Buccaneers – 9.1%

Wow! Who would’ve thought that Perriman would step into the Mike Evans role and immediately succeed? Most thought he would do well, but not this good. Perriman caught five passes for 113 yards and three touchdowns in the win over the Lions. Now with Godwin possibly missing time, Perriman’s upside increases even more. Perriman is a league-winner.

Other Wide Receivers:

  • Anthony Miller, Chicago Bears – 24.4%
  • Chris Conley, Jacksonville Jaguars – 19.2%
  • Danny Amendola, Detroit Lions – 16.6%

Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams – 39%

Higbee now has three straight games of over 100 yards and more than seven catches. Higbee is another player that has become a league-winner. With only starting three games, Higbee is already a top 10 fantasy tight ends by total points for the season. Over this three-game stretch he is averaging a whopping 21.8 PPR points. This is a priority add if you are in need of a consistent tight end.

Other Tight Ends:

  • Jonnu Smith, Tennessee Titans – 6.9%
  • Mike Gesicki, Miami Dolphins – 25.7%
  • Ian Thomas, Carolina Panthers – 3.9%

New York Jets Defense – 30.4%

The Jets just got lit up by the Baltimore Ravens giving up 42 fantasy points, but they still didn’t get negative fantasy points. Actually, the New York Jets have not gotten negative fantasy points once this entire season. Now, the Jets take on one of the worst offenses in the NFL in the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Other Defenses:

  • Denver Broncos – 18.8%
  • Kansas City Chiefs – 34.3%
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers – 28.2%
