As another decade closes, it’s always interesting to look back and see how the last 10 years unfolded. There are Top 10 lists aplenty this time of year and, to no ones surprise, Fantasy Hockey will have their’s as well.
Since forwards tend to dominate the upper echelon of fantasy hockey producers, I decided to split the list up. You will get to read about my Top 10 Fowards, Top 5 Defenseman and Top 5 Goalies.

And here we go…
Top 5 Fantasy Hockey Goalies
5. Sergei Bobrovsky
486 GP / 268 W / .918 save % / 2.50 GAA / 13,502 saves / 34 Shutouts
The only two-time Vezina trophy winner this decade, Sergei Bobrovsky kicks off the list at number five. He ranks top 5 in shots against, saves and save % since 2010-11, and just outside the top 5 in games played and wins. I gave him the nod over guys like Braden Holtby and Tuukka Rask because of those rankings.
4. Carey Price
521 GP / 277 W / .919 save % / 2.42 GAA / 14,113 saves / 41 Shutouts
Ranking within the top four in wins, shutouts, save % (minimum 450 starts) and GAA, Carey Price has been one of the most consistent goalies this decade. He won his only Vezina Trophy in the 2014-15 season with the most dominant season of the decade. He posted a 44-16-6 record with a 1.96 GAA and a .933 save %.
3. Pekka Rinne
533 GP / 292 W / .918 save % / 2.39 GAA / 13,866 saves / 44 Shutout
Number two on the list for games played, games started and wins we have Pekka Rinne. He also tops the list with 44 shutouts (minimum 450 games played), top 3 for GAA and top 4 in save %. Rinne won his Vezina Trophy in 2017-18 at the age of 35, the second oldest to win the trophy this decade. Tim Thomas was 36 when he won his in 2010-11.
2. Henrik Lundqvist
541 GP / 281 W / .919 save % / 2.49 GAA / 14,803 saves / 39 Shutouts
The King. I’m sure I’ll get some people calling it a biased choice. Well, I am. Deal with it! Henrik Lundqvist leads the list for games played, games started, shots against, saves and time on ice. He is also tied for second in save % and top 3 in wins. Lundqvist’s Vezina Trophy came in 2011-2012 season where he had a 39-18-5 record with a 1.97 GAA and a .930 save %, second best season for GAA and save % of the decade.
1. Marc-Andre Fleury
522 GP / 305 W / .917 save % / 2.42 GAA / 13,525 saves / 42 Shutouts
Number 3 in games played and number 4 in games started, but Marc-Andre Fleury leads all goalies with 305 wins this decade. Couple that with a top 4 spot for shots against and saves and top 3 in shutouts. With the way wins are weighted, Fleury takes the cake as the best Fantasy Hockey Goalie of the decade.
Thanks for reading. I hope this list sparks a bit of conversation and debate.
