Wisconsin sports have had a decent run this past decade. There was a championship, some heartbreak, but a lot of fun. Here’s the top five moments and seasons from this past decade.

5. Aaron Rodgers to Randall Cobb in 2013

During week 9 of the 2013 season, Chicago Bears’ pass rusher, Shea McClellin sacked Aaron Rodgers and broke his left collar bone effectively putting the Packers’ season into a frenzy. The Packers would go 2-4-1 during Rodgers’ absence, however they still put themselves in a position to win the division in week 17 against the same Chicago Bears. Down 27-28, with less than a minute to play, on a 4th and 8, Aaron Rodgers rolls to his left and finds a wide open Randall Cobb down field to win the North and end the Bears season. One of the sweetest wins in the history of the Packers-Bears rivalry.

4. Wisconsin Badgers Final Four Appearance

The 2014-15 Wisconsin Badgers season was a memorable one to say the least. Bo Ryan coached this team to a 36-4 regular season record, and won the B1G Ten Championship to boot. The Badgers would appear in their 17th straight march madness tournament defeating Coastal Carolina, Oregon, North Carolina, and Arizona to advance to the final four. In the final four they upset the unbeaten Kentucky Wildcats before playing Duke in the National Championship. Although they ended up losing 63-68, this was one of the most memorable seasons in Badgers Basketball history. P.S. No one in the state of Wisconsin will forget that out of bounds call (IT WAS CLEARLY OFF DUKE!)

3. Milwaukee Brewers 2018 Season

Capped with Christian Yelich Winning the NL MVP and beating the Cubs in game 163, this season was one of the most memorable since 1982. Game 163, beating the Cubs to win the division was the perfect way to start post season play. After sweeping the Rockies, the Brewers would take the Dodgers to a game 7 in Milwaukee. Despite the Brewers dropping game 7 and missing an appearance in the World Series, this season was full of never-forget moments.

2. Milwaukee Bucks 2018 Season

Similar to the Brewers 2018 season, Milwaukee finished this season with a league best 60 wins, and Giannis earned his first ever NBA MVP award. Milwaukee was dominant all season long proving to have the deepest team in the league. During the regular season they finished 60-22 overall, 14-2 in the division, 33-8 at home, and 27-14 on the road. In the playoffs they swept the Detroit Pistons with ease, came back from 0-1 in the series against Boston to win 4-1 (after Paul Pierce called the series “over” after game 1), and took the eventual NBA Champion Toronto Raptors to a game 6. While this season did not end with a championship, it put the Milwaukee Bucks back in the talk of the best teams in the NBA and the 2019-20 season seems to be even more promising.

1. Green Bay’s 2011 Super Bowl Championship

Green Bay finished the regular season 10-6 and the 6 seed in the NFC going into the playoffs. They were consistently counted out and never treated as a true championship caliber team. After beating the Michael Vick led Eagles in the wild card round, stomping the #1 seed Atlanta Falcons in the divisional round, the Packers had the pleasure of knocking out the hated Chicago Bears in the NFC Championship game. Aaron Rodgers became only the 3rd QB in NFL history to throw for 300+ yards, 3 TDs, and 0 INTs in the Super Bowl (Joe Montana, Steve Young). The Packers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25 to earn their 14th World Championship and 4th Super Bowl.

Honorable Mentions: Miracle in Mo-Town, Badgers football defeating Nebraska 70-31 in the 2012 B1G Ten Championship, Nyjer Morgan walk off in 2011 NLDS, Aaron Rodgers throw to Jared Cook Vs. Cowboys in 2016-17 Divisional Round.
