Breaking: Mets and Carlos Beltran Part Ways

Per Jeff Passan, the New York Mets are moving on from manager Carlos Beltran.

Carlos Beltran was rumored to be a part of the Houston Astros’ cheating scandal. A.J. Hinch of the Astros and Alex Cora of the Red Sox were fired from their respective teams for the same reason.

While Beltran was still a player during the time of the cheating incident, it can’t be a good look towards having him as the manager for the Mets.

The Mets hired Beltran last October after they fired the previous manager, Mickey Callaway.

The former manager of the Baltimore Orioles, Buck Showalter, is rumored to be a candidate for the Mets’ new manager. Former Rangers’ manager, Jeff Banister, could also be in the mix for the role.

Any way its looked at, three managers getting fired in under a week is not a great look for the MLB.
