Realistic Rockets Trade Options Part Two

(Photo by Chris Schwegler/NBAE via Getty Images)

With the Houston Rockets currently sliding down the standings, it is a perfect time to look at more potential trade targets. I discussed three possible trade options in part one and will discuss three more options in this article.

The Rockets lack size and scoring punch upfront and these three players would fit nicely in the Houston Rockets rotation.

Houston Rockets trade options

Markieff Morris

1 year / $6,560,000

At 6-ft-9 Markieff Morris would instantly be one of the bigger Rockets on the roster. Shooting over 40 percent from 3-point range Morris would also be one of the best shooters on the team. The Rockets lack size and consistent outside shooting and Morris provides both.

His contract is also fairly easy to trade for and with the Detroit Pistons already out of contention they may be a willing trade partner.

Dario Šarić

Two years left at $3,481,986 and $4,791,212 next year restricted free agent

A career .353 percent 3-point shooter Dario Saric would provide something the Rockets don’t have now. A front court player over 6-ft-5 who can stretch the court but also pull down rebounds if necessary. Dario Saric is currently playing with the Suns another team that will be looking to sell soon if they fall further out of the playoff race.

Saric would also be able to slide over to center if needed to stretch the court from the center position. Saric contract can also be easily absorbed in a trade and would not gut your roster.

Jabari Parker

Two years 13 million dollars

Jabari Parker has long been a player who hasn’t been able to stick with a team but has the talent to help a contender. Currently with a Hawks team who is going no where Parker would be instant offense off the bench.

A career .324 percent 3-point shooter Parker is a player who can score on the inside and from mid-range. This season Parker is shooting over 60 percent from two-point range. Averaging over 15 points a game he would give the Rockets a big man who can create his own shot.
