Potential Teams: LA Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers

Possible trade packages:

Lakers: Kyle Kuzma and Quinn Cook and First-round pick

76ers: Zaire Smith, Jonah Bolden, James Ennis

Derrick Rose is making just $7.3 million this season with another $7.7 million coming his way in 2020-21. With a manageable contract and averaging his highest point per game total since 2011-12 Rose is one of the top trade targets. The two teams that have been connected to Rose are the LA Lakers and the Philadelphia 76ers. Both teams are lacking point guard depth. The Lakers currently have the assist leader in Lebron James but are looking to take some of the burden off the former MVP. The only other option is Rajon Rondo who has been in and out of the lineup all year due to injury.

The 76ers are looking for another ball-handler to help Ben Simmons. Currently there backup point guards are Raul Neto and Trey Burke. Two serviceable guards but neither player moves the needle on a championship contender. Rose is currently shooting .497 from the field and is one of the best points per minute players in the league. The Pistons are without Blake Griffin for the rest of the year and maybe a seller at the deadline. Any team looking to trade with the Pistons may need to include a first-round pick to pry Rose away.

Trade Rumor:Aaron Baynes one year $5,453,280

The Suns are a much improved team but are still on the outside looking in for the playoffs this year. Marc Stein spoke on this rumor

Baynes is averaging 11.5 points and 5.8 rebounds a game in the final year of his contract. If this trade was to happen Baynes would add size to the Clippers frontcourt. Currently the two big men getting the most minutes are Montrezl Harrell and Ivaca Zubac.

Clippers Maurice Harkless and first round pick

Mavericks Seth Curry, Justin Jackson and a first round pick

76ers Zaire Smith, Jonah Bolden, Mike Scott and a first round pick

One of the best three and D players in the league Robert Covington is one of the top trade targets in the NBA for multiple teams. The T Wolves are going nowhere fast and are looking to stock up on future access. The Mavs, 76ers, and Clippers all need wing depth as they continue to fight for playoff position. Covington is in the second year of a four year deal and would fit perfectly with almost any team. At only a little over 11 million for this year, Covington would not destroy any of the potential teams trading for him payroll. Covington is currently averaging 12.7 points on .345 shooting from downtown.
