2020 NFL Mock Draft: Where we stand before the Super Bowl

LSU quarterback Joe Burrow had a perfect senior year record going 15-0, winning the Heisman Trophy, and to top it all off winning a National Title. Burrow threw for 60 touchdowns in a single season. His senior year launched him to become the clear front-runner for the No. 1 overall pick.

1. Bengals – Joe Burrow, QB, LSU

2. Redskins – Chase Young, EDGE, Ohio State

The Ohio State edge rusher might be the best player to come out of this draft when it is all said and done. The Redskins are rebuilding their team and their front office, and to have a lottery pick like this could change an organization.

3. Lions – Jeffrey Okudah, CB, Ohio State

With the injury of Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, Tua would be interesting here. I think, however, the Lions will go with the best player available and that will be with the defensive back out of Ohio State.

4. Giants – Jedrick Wills Jr., OT, Alabama

The Giants’ new head coach Joe Judge told reporters that he wants to be an “old-school, physical mentality” team. The Giants drafted Saquon Barkley 2nd overall two years ago, and I think it is time to address the offensive line early in the draft.

5. Dolphins – Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon

Some people may say that Tua Tagovailoa should be here. I agree that Tua is the 2nd best quarterback overall, but reports have come out and said that they are keying in on Justin Herbert. I think the Dolphins, either way, have their guy.

6. Chargers – Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama

The Chargers did not have to trade up in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft to get their guy at 6th overall. With Phillip Rivers moving to Florida, I think Rivers and the Chargers are going to go their separate ways. The Chargers got their guy.

7. Panthers – Isaiah Simmons, LB, Clemson

With Luke Kuechly‘s surprise retirement, there is a huge hole at linebacker for the Carolina Panthers. I think Isaiah Simmons would be a huge fit for the Panthers alongside Shaq Thompson who is a good and upcoming player. I think the Panthers address this hole in the draft 7th overall.

8. Cardinals – Andrew Thomas, OT, Georiga

Andrew Thomas is one of those rare offensive linemen that was a true freshman starting in college. The Cardinals need to protect their franchise quarterback in Kyler Murray, who they drafted 1st overall last year. This pick would ensure that Kyler Murray could move around in the pocket to get his playmakers the ball.

9. Jaguars – Derrick Brown, DT, Auburn

The Jags are going to take the best player available, which would be defensive tackle Derrick Brown out of Auburn. He is arguably one of the most powerful defensive linemen in this draft. The Jaguars are going to be very excited about this selection in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft.

10. Browns – Tristan Wirfs, OT, Iowa

Baker Mayfield is the centerpiece of this Cleveland offense. The Browns had an awful offensive line last season. Mayfield was forced to leave the pocket or was pressured the entire game. You have to provide support to your franchise quarterback. This would be a smart pick for the Cleveland Browns in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft.

11. Jets – CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma

I know the Jets’ top priority was to protect Sam Darnold and give Le’Veon Bell running holes. With the top-3 offensive tackles off the board, I think the Jets will get Darnold a No. 1 receiver in CeeDee Lamb.

12. Raiders – Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama

The Raiders traded for Antonio Brown, which we all know how that worked out. They need a No. 1 receiver which Jeudy has all of the attributes to be.

13. Colts – Jordan Love, QB, Utah State

This has become a popular selection in 2020 NFL Mock Drafts. I think the Colts are looking to move away from Jacoby Brissett and start fresh with a rookie quarterback. The Colts have weapons and a good offensive line for a rookie quarterback to be successful.

14. Buccaneers – Alex Leatherwood, OT, Alabama

I think this a bit of a reach, but this is a position of need for the Bucs. Leatherwood has some of the smoothest footwork in this draft class. With Demar Dotson getting up there in age, this could be a huge replacement for years to come.

15. Broncos – Henry Ruggs III, WR, Alabama

With Drew Lock entering in his second season as the starting quarterback. You have a beast wide receiver in Courtland Sutton but you need some additional help. Have a speedster that can top off the defense is what you need for a young quarterback.

16. Falcons – Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU

The Falcons need defensive back help and having Fulton fall to them at 16 is a great selection in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft. Fulton and Desmond Trufant could become a good duo.

17. Cowboys – Grant Delpit, S, LSU

The Cowboys need defensive back help but more importantly, they need safety help. Having the best safety in the class fall to you at 17th overall is a gift. The Cowboys would be extremely happy with this pick.

18. Dolphins – A.J. Epenesa, EDGE, Iowa

The Dolphins need a whole new team. To be able to get the best player available and get the 2nd best edge rusher in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft at 18th overall to work with Christian Wilkins could become a very good duo.

19. Raiders – Javon Kinlaw, DT, South Carolina

Getting Kinlaw to work with Maurice Hurst, Maxx Crosby, and Clelin Ferrell could become one of the best defensive lines in the NFL.

20. Jaguars – Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama

With the Jags trading Jalen Ramsey at the trade deadline, they have a huge hole at cornerback. Diggs is very aggressive and has impressive closing speed and is going to be a matchup nightmare.

21. Eagles – Laviska Shenault Jr., WR, Colorado

The Eagles are struggling at the receiver core. Alshon Jeffery and Desean Jackson being hurt for most of the season they need a good wide receiver that can carry the team and help Carson Wentz and that is exactly what Shenault will do for you.

22. Bills – Tee Higgins, WR, Clemson

The Bills have John Brown and Cole Beasley. By adding Tee Higgins to this wide receiver core and having Josh Allen take that leap, this Bills offense just got a whole lot better.

23. Patriots – Cole Kmet, TE, Notre Dame

With Ben Watson and Rob Gronkowski retiring the season before, they need a tight end. Cole Kmet is the same size as Gronk and has good run blocking ability.

24. Saints – C.J. Henderson, CB, Florida

Eli Apple and P.J. Williams are set to hit the open market and Jack Rabbit is not the future at CB. I think they are gonna go with the best CB in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft on the board and that will be C.J. Henderson out of Florida.

25. Vikings – Josh Jones, OT, Houston

If the Vikings can get Riley Reiff moved to the guard position than the Vikings have one of the youngest offensive lines. If they develop their prospects well, then the Vikings, Dalvin Cook, and Kirk Cousins will all improve.

26. Dolphins – KJ Hamler, WR, Penn State

The Dolphins are gonna need weapons for their new franchise QB in Justin Herbert. The speedster KJ Hamler will fit perfectly on the outside.

27. Seahawks – Yetur Gross-Matos, DE, Penn State

With Jadeveon Clowney becoming a free agent, they need to fill that role. Ezekiel Ansah is also been hurt for most of the season. The Seahawks need help getting pressure to the quarterback and Gross-Matos will do just that.

28. Ravens – Terrell Lewis, DE/OLB, Alabama

Matthew Judon does know what the future holds for him in Baltimore. Have to fill a need at pass-rusher. Lewis is a versatile player that can play a few different positions on the defensive line. He could end up being one of the best selections in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft.

29. Titans – Julian Okwara, DE/OLB, Norte Dame

The Titans HC Mike Vrabel wants more pass-rusher. His athleticism is what makes him stand out, but is still fine-tuning a few pass-rusher moves.

30. Packers – Jalen Reagor, WR, TCU

The Packers were eyeing in on K.J. Hamler, but Jalen Reagor falls right into their lap. This gives Aaron Rodgers another weapon that he desperately needs.

31. Chiefs – Kenneth Murray, LB, Oklahoma

The Chiefs are overdue for an update at the linebacker position. Murray will make a huge difference to this defense because of his speed at the linebacker position.

32. 49ers – Xavier McKinney, S, Alabama

McKinney won’t have to be the best player on this stacked defense. The 49ers do not have a lot of needs but taking a safety would help them. McKinney is good in coverage and good against the run as well.
