Clint Capela Possible Trade Destinations

As mentioned in earlier articles trade rumors come heavy and fast during this time of year. Most aren’t legit just smoke screens but there are a few insiders that when they speak you should listen.

Since Capela has been out of the lineup recently the Rockets are 3-0 with their small ball lineup which has led some to believe the Rockets would could move on from Capela. With this news coming out today lets look at a few teams that the Houston Rockets could possibly send Capela to.

Atlanta Hawks Trade Scenarios

Hawks: De’Andre Hunter, Alex Len, First-round pick

Rockets :Clint Capela

The Atlanta Hawks have been in talks for a couple of weeks with several teams looking for a center. They have talked to the Thunder about Steven Adams and the Detroit Pistons about Andre Drummond. The Rockets in any trade with the Hawks would first ask for big man John Collins who is still on his rookie contract.

The question is would the Hawks give up a great asset like Collins? If not you would be looking at a combination of De’Andre Hunter and Alex Len also possibly a first-round pick. Would this be enough for the Rockets? Hunter has the potential to be a good 3 and D wing but potential is not exactly what the Rockets are looking for as they are trying to win now. De’Andre

Wizards: Davis Bertans, Thomas Bryant

Rockets: Clint Capela, First round pick

Multiple teams will be pursuing Davis Bertans. A big man that can spread the floor and shoot at a high clip is a valuable commodity. The Rockets of course shoot more threes than any team in the league and right now lack a big man who can on a regular basis knock down the 3-pointer. The Rockets would have to include a first round pick or multiple picks to pry away Bertans and Bryant.

Chicago Bulls

Bulls: Luke Kornet, Thaddeus Young first round pick

Rockets: Capela, Danuel House

Thaddeus Young isn’t going to move the meter in excitement for Rockets fans. On the season he is a below average 3-point shooter. But the last 10 games his percentage has risen to almost 39 percent a game. He would give you a good backup for P.J. Tucker or you could move him in the starting lineup and move Tucker to small forward.

Luke Kornet is a 7’2′ center that has decent rim protection and can occasionally knock down the 3-pointer in a trade like this though it is all about the first-round pick. The Bulls pick of course would be a lottery pick but honestly not likely since the Bulls are building for the future.

The Rockets no doubt are looking to upgrade their talent. In the middle of pack currently the Rockets know their championship window is two to three years at the most. Daryl Morey will not let this deadline past in the next few days without some movement.

Update:Other possible teams Boston Celtics, Sacremento Kings have engaged in trade talks for Capela.
