UFC 247 Fight Week is finally over and it was an absolute thriller. The UFC’s last event in Houston was a little over 3 years ago in 2017, where it was headlined by Dennis Bermudez against The Korean Zombie. The UFC reported a gate of $3,549,418 and a total of 17,401 attendees, a massive difference of over $2.9 million and 9,282 respectively when compared to the last event held in the Toyota Center. With analytics out of the way, let’s talk about the fights.

  • Valentina Shevchenko remains champion
  • Justin Tafa extends Juan Adams’ losing streak to 3
  • Dan Ige extends Mirsad Bektić’s losing streak to 2 consecutive losses

Derrick Lewis had the privilege of welcoming Ilir Latifi to the Heavyweight Division tonight at UFC 247. Much to the dismay of Latifi, Lewis edged out a decision win over the Swede, which extends his win streak to 2, and sadly extends Latifi’s losing streak to 3. So what’s next for the Black Beast?

  • For Derrick Lewis
    • Curtis Blaydes
      • Lewis will be a tough sell for the heavyweight wrestler, as Blaydes wants a chance at the heavyweight title.
    • Alexander Volkov
      • Granted, Volkov lost to Lewis, but Volkov was dominating the fight prior to his KO loss.
  • For Ilir Latifi
    • Currently on a 3-fight skid. Maybe a cut? Maybe a drop back down to Light Heavyweight again?

    • Rematch against Reyes
    • Winner of Anderson vs. Błachowicz next weekend
  • For Dominick Reyes
    • Rematch against Jones
    • Thiago Santos
