The New York Giants have come to terms with former second-round pick James Bradberry. The contract is a three year, 45 million dollar deal, with 23 million guaranteed, according to NFL Update.
Breaking: Giants to sign James Bradberry
This signing is a big move for the Giants who have spent the last season overhauling their secondary. This comes after spending a first-round pick on Deandre Baker
Bradberry has been nothing short of impressive this far in his career. So far, he has faced receivers such as Julio Jones, Mike Evans, Calvin Ridley, Chris Godwin, and Mike Thomas, more than holding his own.
So far, through his first four years, Bradberry has totaled: 279 tackles, three sacks, and eight interceptions. Bradberry has proven that he is not just a scheme corner as well. He usually follows the opponent’s number one receiver every across the field.
Along with his production, Bradberry also has the size that teams crave. James Bradberry is a solid six-foot-one, 212 pounds. He is long enough to press receivers but does not wow with speed. What he lacks in speed, he makes up for in excellent technique to keep up with most receivers in the league.
The Giants are getting one of the better up and coming corners in the NFL, and one who will bolster their secondary for years to come.
This creates a significant problem for the Panthers in the secondary, as Donte Jackson is the only returning defensive back of note. This loss comes as a substantial blow to an already struggling secondary.
