The Chicago Bears Sign Tight End Jimmy Graham

Jimmy Graham and the Chicago Bears have agreed on a two year deal worth 16 million dollars with nine million guaranteed.

Ryan Pace has made his first official move in free agency. And it will be interesting to see how Head Coach Matt Nagy uses him in his offense. The Bears offense has two different positions for the tight end spot. The U tight end, which is more of the receiving tight end like Trey Burton. And the Y tight end, which is more of the tradition tight end that stays in to block and be a red zone threat like what Adam Shaheen was supposed to be. It’s not exactly certain what spot Jimmy Graham will fill because he’s more in the middle of those two spots. Plus, he seems to be past his prime.

This move seems a little desperate for the general manager Ryan Pace. Because Jimmy Graham was in his prime five years ago, but lets hope that there is still something left in the tank. Regardless, he is an upgrade at the position. But will it make enough of a difference is the real question. That wont be answered until the Bears make up their mind at the quarterback position though.
