Inside linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski has signed with the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders have a big need at the position but passed on names like Joe Schobert and Blake Martinez to go with the 26-year-old former Bears backup. No contract details have been released as of yet but Kwiatkoski did tweet a picture of the Vegas stadium earlier.
Nick Kwiatkoski, ILB
Kwiatkoski has been with the Bears since being drafted in the fourth round of the 2016 Draft. He has 22 starts over those four years with a career-high of eight last season. In 16 games, eight starts, Nick put up 76 tackles, eight tackles for loss, three sacks, an interception, and a forced fumble. His overall grade from Pro Football Focus for last season was 72.4. One concern for Raiders fans should be his 11.6% missed tackle rate according to Pro Football Reference. The Raiders filled a need, and it likely won’t be for as much as some of the other linebackers out there will cost. If Kwiatkoski can take the starting job and run with it, that gives the Raiders another young talent going forward. Teams may want to watch out as Gruden and company continue to make sharp moves.
Terms: The Raiders are signing former Bears ILB Nick Kwiatkoski to a 3-year, $21M deal with $13.5M guaranteed.
