Per reports, the Eagles and Malcolm Jenkins will be parting ways this offseason. After discussions between the two sides, it was agreed that the right move was to move on.
Jenkins had his team option declined, making him a free agent, and able to sign with any team around the league. The news comes after Jalen Mills re-signed with Philadelphia as a cornerback/safety hybrid. The Eagles will now likely use Mills at strong safety for much of next season.
Jenkins stated at the end of the season that he was not willing to return to the Eagles on his current contract for this season. Jenkins has been a dog for Philly, having played every snap since week 17 of the 2017 season on defense.
Free safety, Rodney McLeod, also remains a free agent. It will be interesting to see how GM Howie Roseman can address this situation in free agency.
