Thomas Davis, Ron Rivera Reunited In Washington

Thomas Davis will not be retiring just yet. He is coming to the Redskins to play for his longtime coach Ron Rivera.

Davis played at the University of Georgia, where he was a consensus All-American. He was selected in the first round of the 2005 Draft by the Panthers. He played for Carolina from 2005 to 2018 before a one-year stint with the Chargers.

Thomas Davis made three consecutive Pro Bowls from 2015 to 2017. He was also named an All-Pro in 2013 and 2015 and was the Walter Payton Man of the Year in 2014.

The concerns with Davis are his age and injury history. The former Panther will be 37 years old later this month and has torn the ACL in his right knee three times.

The Redskins are a young team. Therefore a veteran leader on their defense can only help. Davis provides just that and is very familiar with this coaching staff.
