The Chicago Bears need some veteran cornerback help so they took care of it. The Bears added cornerback Artie Burns to a one-year deal. Burns was a former first-round pick for the Pittsburgh Steelers. This was initially reported by Drew Rosenhaus on Twitter.
Bears Add Cornerback Artie Burns
The Bears get some much-needed help at the cornerback position. The 24-year-old cornerback struggled in Pittsburgh, but the Bears just released veteran cornerback Prince Amukamara. The Bears currently have just Canadian Football League star Tre Roberson and young undrafted free agent Kevin Toliver II to fight for the second starting cornerback position. The addition of Artie Burns brings some solid competition.
Burns struggled to earn time near the end of his time in Pittsburgh. Burns only started seven games in the last two seasons. There is still hope for a turnaround for Artie Burns on the Bears since he is only 24, but that seems to just be wishful thinking.
