My Stance On Covid-19

It is true. Our great nation has been captivated by the evils of this deadly Coronavirus spreading faster than the speed of light known as COVID-19. Businesses, restaurants, movie theaters, and nightclubs have been shut down. Additionally, beaches, parks, and public buildings. The whole world seems to be at a standstill. This is something in history mankind has not experienced since the Spanish Flu Pandemic of 1918. The whole entire world is at standpoint. Streets are empty, businesses are shut down, and the Stock Markets have plummeted, which may force us at this projection into another economic depression such as the one our forefathers faced 90 years ago.

Pandemic

Cause and Effect

You, as a healthy normal person, are used to living a life going outside. Also, you’re used to being around people. This helps to make you happy when socializing. Suddenly, you wake up, and every day you see that this pandemic is taking more and more lives. Plus, it’s at such an alarming rate. Add on that it’s destroying our economy. This can have more serious effects beyond the realm of health. This is an entire disaster economically, mentally, spiritually, and physically for all humans.

Home

My home state of New York, where I was born and raised, is now responsible for 5 % of all cases worldwide. It is truly history in the making, but for the wrong reasons. In 20-30 years, this will be in every textbook. As survivors from this era will talk about how hard this ultimately was to survive. Additionally, how we overcame these hard times. Not only has the economy suffered, but something that most of us enjoy has also disappeared. Whether entirely canceled, suspended, or postponed.

Farewell Sports

On March 11th, right before the OKC vs Jazz game tip-off, there were rumors of a sick player. Before, the NBA Commissioner, Adam Silver, announced that he and 30 other NBA owners were considering playing games without fans. However, the NBA announced its season suspension when Utah Jazz C Rudy Gobert was diagnosed with COVID-19. Consequently, Coronavirus has prompted other major sporting leagues around the USA and many other countries to suspensions/postponement/ cancellations of their own.

Looking toward the Future

Finally, I would personally like to think there is a silver lining at the end of this tunnel concerning the Coronavirus. However,  these times have been trying. Also, as much as I would like to be optimistic that there is a better future ahead of us,  life is hard. However, that is just the process of life. May this blow over, and we all persevere through these trying times.
