Germain Ifedi Signs with the Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears finally addressed their offensive line. Swing tackle Germain Ifedi is signing a one-year deal with the Bears according to Ian Rapoport on Twitter.

Germain Ifedi is a former first-round pick for the Seattle Seahawks back in 2016. Ifedi struggled in his time in Seattle in which he led the league in penalties in 2017 with 16. In 2019, the Seahawks declined his fifth-year option.

In 2019, Ifedi looked better under offensive line coach Mike Solari, but the Seahawks already addressed losing Ifedi, so that left Ifedi without a team.

The Bears currently have two average offensive tackles that both struggled last season. Both Charles Leno and Bobby Massie will now be pushed by a young, former first-round offensive tackle that could benefit from a change-of-scenery. If anything, he will be a solid backup.
