Drew Brees Helping People Struggling Financially

It is crazy how one week the world is prospering and flourishing and then it is taken away by a deadly virus. That is what the Coronavirus is doing as we speak. With thousands of people dying from COVID-19, and many struggling to make ends meet as they shelter in place.

Helping Each Other Out

Many celebrities and sports owners are pitching in to help the struggling economy and bring peace back to society. Currently, we have seen NBA owners like Mark Cubin continue to pay his stadium employees during missed games, NBA players, past and present, as well as Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, donate as well.

Now, down in New Orleans, Louisiana, COVID-19 has rocked the crescent city to its core. It is getting so bad, that people are losing their jobs, and even worse, losing their lives because there is no equipped to help doctors and nurses treat the sick.

However, thanks to one NFL Quarterback, he is making a very, very generous offer. At age 41, Drew Brees is going to Donate $5 million to help people during this hardship. This Coronavirus relief is not the only charitable act he’s done. He has helped Louisana back in 2006 during Hurricane Katrina.

What It Means to Drew

“The priority now is helping our communities get through this tough time,” Brees wrote on social media while listing the local organizations he’s partnering with to “deliver over 10,000 meals per day throughout Louisiana for as long as it takes, to children on meal programs, seniors and families in need. “Let’s all do our part, maintain hope, and get through this together.”

Drew Brees is not alone. Another grand gesture is coming curtsy of Arizona Cardinals linebacker Chandler Jones who is donating over 15,000 meals to food banks in Arizona and New York according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. This is to assist with families affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.

It is so great to see people helping one another out in this difficult time.
