Could The NFL “Virtual” Draft Be Hacked?

This year with COVID-19 affecting everything including sports, the National Football League has decided the NFL Draft will go entirely virtual. This has brought up fear of the draft being hacked.

This means draft scouts, teams, and prospects conducting the draft over skype or some kind of video conferencing service. This news comes a month after the league decided to move the event away from Las Vegas and also canceled all Pro days for draft-eligible players.

However, with completing the draft all on the compute, there are many concerns that go along with it. Like, for instance being hacked. Coaches and General Managers are concerned that when it is their turn to make a pick they will be hacked by an outside source or by an NFL team.

Who knows what’s really going to happen but I do know this. Teams must be on their toes and be ready for anything. One thing is for sure, is that this is going to be the first NFL draft to be done entirely virtually.

You can watch the 2020 NFL Draft Thursday, April 23, 2020, on NFL Network, ESPN, and ABC.
