Baltimore County police arrested Ufomba Kamalu on Thursday. This was due to an alleged domestic violence incident. The incident between Kamalu and an unnamed woman Wednesday morning occurred in Pikesville, Maryland. After receiving a call about a domestic violence altercation, police arrived to find an injured woman on the scene. The incident began as an argument and escalated from there. Kamalu is facing a misdemeanor charge of second-degree assault. According to court documents, he was granted his release after a $20,00 bond. He will be expected back in court on May 26th.
Ufomba Kamalu Let Go by Ravens Following Incident
Kamalu originally got his start as an undrafted free agent with the Texans. Most recently, Ufomba Kamalu won a Superbowl ring in 2018 with the Patriots. It was also from the Patriots practice squad that the Ravens acquired Kamalu during the 2019 season. Kamalu stayed with the Ravens until his release Wednesday evening. Kamalu did not receive any playing time during the 2019 season with the Ravens. The expectation was that Kamalu would compete for snaps along the defensive line. With Kamalu out of the picture, the Ravens will be looking to add another piece to their defensive line in the coming weeks.
