Should the Bears Acquire Marqise Lee?

Earlier today, the Jacksonville Jaguars parted ways with wide receiver Marqise Lee. Back in 2018, the Jaguars chose to stick with Lee over current Bears’ wide receiver Allen Robinson. That backfired.

Lee could never stay healthy after the contract extension in 2018 as he tore his ACL, PCL, and MCL in a 2018 preseason game missing the whole season. Last season, he went on injured reserve with a shoulder injury. Lee has always been a solid receiver for the Jaguars before then, but injuries got in the way of a potential breakout after Robinson left.

Robinson has now gone out of his way to attempt to recruit Marqise Lee through a series of tweets.

It seems that Robinson is becoming like assistant general manager Cordarrelle Patterson trying to recruit players to the team as well. Marqise Lee could step into the number two receiver role right along former teammate Robinson and then Anthony Miller would be back in the slot with young guys Riley Ridley and Javon Wims trying to earn playing time. With the Bears still having around $9 million in cap space according to, they have some leeway to attempt to add Lee for a cheap price.

I’d say only add Lee if he comes cheap. He should be worth the price and his past injuries show that he shouldn’t be that expensive.
