2020 NFL Draft: Buffalo Bills Day Two Recap

Buffalo Bills Draft Overview

After sitting out Round 1 of the NFL Draft, because of the Stefon Diggs trade. The Buffalo Bills joined the NFL Draft festivities on Friday night. Because of the great work done in recent drafts by Bills General Manager Brandon Beane and Head Coach Sean McDermott. The Buffalo Bills enter this draft with very few glaring needs.

Round Two

The Buffalo Bills selected Iowa Defensive End A.J. Epenesa with the No. 54th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft

A.J. Epenesa (6’5 275) fills a long term need for the Buffalo Bills on their defensive line. With Jerry Hughes and Mario Addison in their 30’s. As a result, Buffalo was looking for a long term answer on the edge. Epenesa provides that. He also brings versatility, in that, he can play on the outside and inside.

Round Three

The Buffalo Bills selected Utah Running Back Zack Moss with the No. 86th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft

Last season, Frank Gore was a great mentor for Bills rookie runner Devin Singletary. With Gore now gone, Buffalo was clearly in the market for a complimentary runner to Singletary. Buffalo is hoping that the selection of Zack Moss has the same return of value that Singletary had in round three of last year’s draft.

At 5’9 223, Zack Moss was one of the best tackle-breaking runners in all of college football last season. Moss was a workhorse at Utah, becoming that school’s all-time leading rusher. With Buffalo, he can serve as the perfect compliment to Singletary. The downside to Moss is his history with injuries. Zack Moss had knee surgery in the past and doesn’t present great speed, but as a two-down thumper, he brings great value in short-yardage situations.
