Miami Dolphins’ Pick No. 164: Curtis Weaver

The Miami Dolphins have traded No. 173 and No. 227 in exchange for No. 164. With the 164th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins selected edge rusher, Curtis Weaver. Curtis Weaver projects to be a solid depth piece for Miami.

The Miami Dolphins addressed edge rusher this offseason with the additions of Shaq Lawson and Emmanuel Ogbah. Curtis Weaver will be a good defensive lineman to add some depth to the Dolphins. Weaver will have to compete for a spot on the 53 man roster, but he has a good chance to make the roster as a backup edge rusher.

In his junior season, Curtis Weaver racked up 52 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss, and 13.5 sacks. Weaver will be a good depth edge rusher and he could potentially become a skilled pass rusher in the NFL. Overall this was low risk and a high reward pick made by the Miami Dolphins.
