The Chicago Bears announced the addition of wide receiver and return specialist Trevor Davis on a one-year deal. The Chicago Bears’ twitter reported this first.
Trevor Davis initially got scooped up by Green Bay in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Davis showed incredible speed and elusiveness in his time in college. He spent a little over three years on the Packers struggling to stay healthy. He only played one full season. In 2019, he spent time with Green Bay, the Oakland Raiders, and the Miami Dolphins playing in 14 total games that year.
Trevor Davis has shown his value as a kick off returner averaging 22.4 yards per return and as a punt returner as well. Davis will likely be competing with rookie Darnell Mooney and a few other players for a wide receiver spot on the Bears. Davis could be competing directly with Mooney for the ‘X’ wide receiver position as the true deep threat for the Bears. He has shown flashes to be a solid player but hasn’t done it consistently.
