St John’s guard LJ Figueroa has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.
The 6-6, 195 pound guard had himself a pretty good junior campaign for Mike Anderson and the Red Storm. Figueroa averaged 14.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists appearing in 32 games this past season. He also shot 37.9% from the field and 36.5% from beyond the arc. That is a jump from his Sophomore year where he averaged 14.4 points and 1.7 assists. This is a pretty big hit for St John’s, seeming that Figueroa would have been their leading scorer if he had returned to the Red Storm.
It looks like he might have to sit out for the 2020-21 season, but plenty of teams will have their eye on the St John’s wing player.
