Jack Eichel Trade Rumours

Recently, Jack Eichel has expressed his frustration with the results for the Buffalo Sabres as of late. So, naturally, it’s time to discuss Jack Eichel trade rumours!

Before I get started, I will say that I don’t think Eichel asked for a trade, I think this is more of a “get your stuff sorted out or I’m gone” type of situation.

In this article, I will discuss possible trade partners for the Buffalo Sabres should Eichel ask for a trade.

1. Boston Bruins

This one may seem far-fetched, as they just won the President’s Trophy and already have one of the best centers in the league in Patrice Bergeron, but hear me out. Boston’s core is outstanding, and even if Bergeron seems to be getting better with age, he is on the wrong side of 30. Their second-line option, David Krejci is getting up there in age as well. I believe this would be a good opportunity for the Bruins to get younger and even better than they already are. It would also be cool to see Eichel play for his hometown team… As for what they trade to acquire Eichel? I’m not so sure. Let me know in the comments 😉

2. Calgary Flames

This one would be interesting. Bringing Eichel to the Flames would mean the Battle of Alberta would get that much more interesting. Number 1 and 2 from the same draft competing in one of the most entertaining rivalries in the game today. One ick though, Calgary already has their top center in Sean Monahan. I believe if this trade were to go down, Monahan would be part of the deal. Monahan struggled for his standards this year and could benefit from a change of scenery. He is also cheaper than Eichel, which would give Buffalo more wiggle room when it comes to adding a supporting cast around the center. Monahan might not be as good as Eichel, but considering him still being relatively young at 26 years old, the Sabres could build around him and Casey Mittelstadt.

3. Ottawa Senators

First off, I’m only mentioning this because there was talk about Eichel to the Sens during the season. I don’t think there is any way that Ottawa trades for Eichel. But I’ll entertain the option for this article, I also think it’s unlikely because Ottawa is not much better in the standings than Buffalo. So no, I don’t think this happens.

Anyways, if Ottawa could find a way to get Eichel for cheaper by acquiring a bad contract like Kyle Okposo, then it would be interesting. Ottawa could give up someone like Logan Brown and their New York Islanders first-round pick, and maybe a few other assets. I believe that, if the price is right, it would be interesting. I doubt it happens. I don’t think it should happen, but it would be interesting nonetheless.

Conclusion

This whole fiasco is unfortunate for both the Sabres and Eichel, I honestly hope they find a way to make things work, I want to see Eichel lead the Sabres to victory one day. But if a trade is needed, I’d love to see what happens.
