Syracuse basketball has landed a commitment from four star center Frank Anselem. Anselem is one of the top uncommitted players in the 2020 class. He was originally in the class of 2021 but he reclassified in April. Anselem is a 6’10 center who played high school basketball at Prolific Prep. He is a athletic center who is a very solid rebounder and has the chance to be a very good rim protector in the near future. What all happened that lead to this commitment? Lets find out.
On April 14th, Frank Anselem announced his final three schools that included Alabama, LSU, and Georgia. Many believed that Anselem was going to attend LSU but after LSU landed a commitent from four star center Josh Gray, Anselem decided to reopen his recruitment. Once he reopened his recruitment, many schools got involved including schools like Kentucky, Arkansas, and Seton Hall. On May 1st, Anselem announced his final six that included Syracuse, Kentucky, Arkansas, San Diego State, Seton Hall, and Western Kentucky. Kentucky gained most of the talk for Anselem but after they landed a commitment from Wake Forest transfer Olivier Sarr, he decided to cut the wildcats. Syracuse and San Diego State started look liked most likely options for Frank Anselem. Anselem decided to cut his list one more time to Syracuse, New Mexico, San Diego State, and Georgia. Today Frank Anselem committed to Jim Boeheim and the Syracuse Orange.
Frank Anselem is very solid get for Jim Boeheim and his staff. Anselem joins a class that includes four star Kadary Richmond and three star Woody Newtom. Syracuse also landed a commitment from Illinois transfer Alan Griffin. The Orange should be very competitive in the ACC next season.
