Penny Hardaway adds another five star recruit to his resume. Today, local star Moussa Cisse decided to stay home and commit to the Tigers. He chose the Tigers over LSU, Florida State, Kentucky, Georgia, and Georgetown. Memphis really needed some more help in the front court and they got it.

Moussa Cisse has high level energy on the court and elite shot blocking ability. Landing him was a MASSIVE recruiting win for Penny Hardaway and his staff. Many considered him a “lock” to LSU for months. Even days up to his commitment LSU was still seen as the favorite in a lot of people’s eyes. The longer the recruitment played out, the better is was for Memphis. With everything going on with COVID-19, staying home became a real factor for Moussa Cisse. He made it official today by committing to Memphis.

Cisse joins JUCO star Ahmad Rand for the Tigers recruiting class. Memphis also landed commitments from transfer Landers Nolley (Virginia Tech) and DeAndre Willams (Memphis). Both players have applied for waivers to get immediate eligibility. Moussa Cisse should be the starting center for Penny Hardaway next season. He should be the favorite to win the AAC Freshman of the year. Memphis should be a really solid team next year.
