Training Camp Dates Are Finally Announced!

Football season hasn’t officially begun but it’s been a crazy year in 2020. Thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NFL draft went fatal for the first time, with no OTAs, and no Mini Camps. Even learning the playbooks for rookies and free agents has been done virtually. Fortunately, I have good news. Training camp dates are finally announced!

Now as we approach the 2020 season, the NFLPA has sent out a memo to all 32 teams on when training camp can officially start.

Training Camp

In the memo first reported by Mike Paracello of NFL Network, it says that all rookie players will report on July 21. Then, on July 23, the quarterbacks and injured players will report. Finally, on July 28, the remaining players will report to training. You can see his full tweet including the memo below.

Chiefs and Texans

Because the Kansas City Chiefs and the Houston Texans are playing in the kickoff game on September 10, they will get to report to camp first.

Preparing for the Preseason

In addition to the different start dates for players to report to camp, all 32 teams will hold their camps at their team facilities. These training camp workouts will last all the way up until the start of the 2020 NFL preseason. The preseason will be shorter than in years past as it will be only two games. One game at home and one on the road.
