The Kansas City Royals have announced they have added Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes to the KC ownership group. Over the off-season, David Glass sold the team to John Sherman. Sherman then became the new owner of the Royals along with several other members being apart of the ownership group. Today, the Royals announced the former NFL MVP and Super Bowl champion has joined them. The Royals Ownership Group has several people a part of it, but now they add Patrick Mahomes to that list.

Statement from John Sherman
Mahomes will now be a partial owner of the Royals and will now be the youngest owner in sports history. In a press release, John Sherman had this to say.
“We are very proud and excited to have Patrick as our partner in the ownership group of this franchise,” Chairman, CEO and principal owner John Sherman said in a news release. “Along with the rest of Kansas City, I have watched Patrick compete and become an extraordinary leader, both on and off the football field.”
Mahomes isn’t unfamiliar with baseball, because his father once played in the Major Leagues, so Mahomes has spent a lot of time around the game.
Mahomes was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs with the 10th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. He has spent the last 3 seasons with K.C. and has been one of the most successful quarterbacks during this time.
A few weeks ago, Mahomes got a huge pay day when the Chiefs announced that they gave him a contract extension. This extension was for 10 years and 503 million dollars. This contract was the largest contract in sports history.
Conclusion
As the MLB season continues, we will see how this effects the Kansas City Royals. The Kansas City fans will be seeing him on the football field and representing the Royals for the next decade.
