Nationals Erupt to Steal A Win From the Blue Jays

The Nationals finally end the three game losing skid and finally won against the Blue Jays. After another great night for the bullpen, the Nationals were able to close out the Blue Jays. The Nationals get something they’ve missed in the first two games of this series. Not only did they get a great start from Max Scherzer who went 7.1 scoreless, but they exploded offensively. Late in the 10th, the offense scored 4 runs. The Nationals offense was silent during the first nine innings, and the game looked hopeless, but that 10th inning changed the Nationals season perhaps for the better.

Huge 10th Inning With Clutch Hitting From the Nationals

After two walks, the bases were loaded for the Nats in the 10th. Two swinging strikeouts left the Nationals with the bases loaded, two outs and it looked dire. They needed a hit to scorem or else the Blue Jays would have a runner on 2nd to walk it off. Adam Eaton got it started with an infield single that scored a run but that wasn’t all. Asdrubal Cabrera had the ultimate clutch hit with a three-run triple to give Tim Rainey a four-run cushion. This allowed him to come in and get three strikeouts to end the game.

This is the clutch hitting that the Nationals have won a championship off of. Juan Soto is coming back and if the other bats can get hot, this team could get rolling. I think by next Monday they can get to above .500 for the first time in 2020.

Bullpen Shut Down the Blue Jays For the Win

So far the Nationals have a 1.15 ERA and they have to keep that up in order to win a title. If they have a league average bullpen, the lineup and rotation will carry the other part of the load. The Mets and Braves are both .500 right now, and if they can capitalize and get off to a hot second week, they will be able to steal the NL East early.

Will there be a dogfight for that division? Yes, and it won’t be easy, but the Nationals will have their star bat back. He’s not just a good hitter, but the BEST offensive player in the NL East. The World Series Champion Nationals are coming closer to full strength and can get another win against the Blue Jays.
