In October of 2018, the Dallas Cowboys acquired wide receiver Amari Cooper from the then Oakland Raiders. Since that trade the Dallas receiving corps has become one of the most efficient in the league.
Dallas added Ceedee Lamb with the 17th pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft. The impact that his addition will have on the team is apparent. Lamb had 173 receptions, 3,292 receiving yards, and 32 touchdowns which led him to be named first-team All-American. There is no doubt that he is a talented receiver which makes his addition to the team very scary. In 2019, Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup had 2,296 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns combined. Seeing that duo in action shows their impact on the Cowboys offense.
With all three of these talents being on the starting line-up, many experts have already rated them as the top receiving trio. All three of these receivers are deep threats and have attributes that make them elite. furthermore, they have a high competitive speed which will make it complicated for most NFL defenses to contain. In addition, the average 40-yard time between the three is 4.48 making them one of the fastest trios currently.
The Cowboys also have multiple other receiving threats on the roster in Blake Jarwin, and Devin Smith. Coupled with Ezekiel Elliot and Tony Pollard who are very successful receiving backs. Dallas has given Dak Prescott multiple weapons to dish the ball to, which might have most defenses playing the guessing game on who the ball is going to on every single play. Despite a tough schedule this upcoming season, many believe that the Cowboys have enough weapons to win the NFC East.
Prescott finished the 2019 season as the second leading passer with 4,902 passing yards and 30 touchdowns. It will be very interesting to see how he shares the ball between these different talents when the season returns. If the season persists, the Cowboys will play the Los Angles Rams for their season opener in Los Angeles.
