The Utah Jazz preseason results are final. The Jazz had a strong showing in the bubble preseason finishing 2-1 with wins over the Brooklyn Nets and the Miami Heat. Only lost came against the Phoenix Suns in the first preseason game. Lets jump into the review of the games.
Game 1: Phoenix 101 Utah 88
In the first game the Utah Jazz got off to a slow start while Phoenix had 6 players in double digits scoring. Utah had a strong showing from Donovan Mitchell who had 17 points on 63 percent shooting. Jordan Clarkson also had 14 off the bench but it wasn’t enough as Phoenix was led by Mikal Bridges with 14 points. Ingles and Gobert struggled out of the gate in this game but they looked to bounce back in the second game.
Game 2: Utah 101 Miami 99
Utah had a great start and were led by Rudy who bounced back with 21 and 8 after a bad first game. They also had strong play from Conley and Clarkson who each had 17 points. Niang also had 12 points off the bench. Miami had a very strong showing from Kelly Olynyk who dropped 27 points and rookie Tyler Herro had 20 points. Jimmy did rest for Miami and Bam was out because he had just gotten to the bubble after testing positive for Corona. Utah moved to 1-1.
Game 3: Utah 112 Brooklyn 107
Mike Conley continued his strong play with another great showing leading Utah to the win with 18 points. Rudy also had a great game again dropping 20 and Mitchell had 14. Clarkson had another strong outing off the bench with 12. Brooklyn was led by Caris Levert with 23 points and Jarrett Allen had 19 points. Brooklyn had 8 players skip the bubble because of corona which means they are at a huge disadvantage. Utah looked good again though and finished 2-1.
All in all the Utah Jazz preseason went a little better than expected. They were still able to pick up some wins. Rudy looked really good along with Conley and Clarkson. Mitchell looked like himself for the most part. Utah is going to have trouble replacing the 20 points Bojan was dropping a night and Ingles did not play very good in the scrimmage. Utah opens up tomorrow night against the Pelicans who looks like they will have Zion. They also went 3-0 in the preseason so it will be a very hard game for Utah to win, but we are all looking forward to it.
