Dallas Cowboys Transactions From August First

As we approach the second week of training camp at the Star in Frisco, Texas, The Cowboys have made a few transactions to kick off the first day of August.

Kai Forbath – Kicker

Forbath was added to the team in the middle of the 2019 season when Brett Maher was benched. Forbath was expected to compete with newly signed kicker Greg Zuerlein, but it now appears that the job is Zuerlein’s to lose

Azur Kamar – Linebacker (Rookie)

Rookie linebacker Azur Kamar was signed as an undrafted free agent and was released by the team before even taking a practice snap. Hopefully he gets his chance with another team, or possibly with Dallas down the line.

Joe Fortunato – Long Snapper

Long snapper Joe Fortunato signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent and played for the team from 2017-2019. In 2020 he was released and picked up by the Cowboys. His new contract was for three years but was not guaranteed. Dallas most likely saw him as a camp body. That became a luxury that teams cannot afford anymore, however, due to the smaller roster sizes for training camp.
