Crazy Mike Trout Stats: Happy 29th Birthday

On August 7, 2020, Mike Trout turned 29. As he opens a new year, let’s look back at 29 crazy Mike Trout stats that he has accumulated since making his Major League debut in 2011.

1. He has led the AL in offensive WAR seven times in eight seasons.

2. He is 6th in career MVP shares by age-29.

3. He leads all active players in slugging percentage and OPS.

4. He has the highest OPS+ of any right-handed hitter in MLB history.

5. He holds the record for highest WAR by a rookie.

6. In eight seasons, he has never finished lower than 4th in AL MVP voting.

7. He has been in the AL’s top 10 of WAR in all eight seasons.

In just eight full seasons, Trout has established himself a Titan of baseball history. He would be a shoo-in Hall of Fame vote, and he is on pace to rack up 3,000 hits and 500 home runs. When all is said and done, Trout may be the greatest center fielder in MLB history.
